My new love Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art
I've have always brought native Lenses and don't get me wrong Nikon's pro lenses are fantastic. The 85 1.4 has been my favourite lens ever, but at some wedding's and environmental locations space can be to tight to shoot at 85mm. I have Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 but the 2.8 doesn't give me the subject separation I need for my style of shooting. The Nikon 35mm 1.4 has been on wish list for quite sometime but at £1500 quite a hit on my wallet. Sigma announced their ART range of lenses over 3 years ago and the reviews have been outstanding. So at £620 I decided to give it go. I have brought Sigma before many years ago and was less than impressed, but this new 35 ART completely blow me away. Don't get me wrong Sigma makes you work to achieve this, I had to buy the Sigma dock to completely calibrate the lens focus to my Nikon d810 because it back focused quite badly. But once I did this it was outstanding the sharpness and contrast is world class. It has made me shoot in a different way and add a new dimension
to my creative mindset. Here are some of my favourite images since buying the lens 3 months ago.
